1) Enter the return, search and select Form 1099-NEC
2) Select +Add New to add a 1099-NEC to your return

The IRS requires that 1099-NEC income be indicated on the appropriate schedule associated with the work provided. This will generally be within a Schedule C or Schedule F.
If a Schedule C or F is not added to the return after reporting Form 1099-NEC income, your return will receive an error until the appropriate Schedule is added or the 1099-NEC income is removed.
To report your 1099-NEC income on Schedule C
1) Search & enter the Schedule C Profit or Loss from Business, or the page.
2) On the Schedule C Profit or Loss from Business page, select +Add New.
3) Scroll down to the section labeled Form 1099-NEC Amounts.
4) Check off the 1099-NEC income that pertains to the Schedule C you are adding. This will link your 1099-NEC income to the Schedule C you are completing.
Do not use the Part 1 Income entries to re-enter the income already reported in the 1099-NEC page being linked. This will double your total income.
For each 1099-NEC entered, there must be one Schedule C or Schedule F associated with it.
