If you are looking to get your refund by paper check, follow the steps below.
How to request to receive your refund by check
1) Enter your return, select Enter Refund Payment Details* found towards the bottom of the Return Summary page.
2) On the Federal Settlement Page or State Debit Selection Page, select No Direct Deposit (Paper Check).
Please note:
Due to IRS Executive Order 14247, opting into a paper check refund disbursement has resulted in you receiving a notice from the IRS. You are still able to select paper check at the time of filing your return, however, it could delay your refund disbursement an additional 5-6 weeks.
Please note that you can still switch your disbursement method to Direct Deposit up to 30 days after receiving the IRS notice. To make this switch, please review the instructions listed on the IRS notice you received.
