What does this IRS reject code mean?
This indicates that the IRS has reason to believe you received Form 1095-A for marketplace healthcare. If you did receive Form 1095-A, you can add this by following the steps below. If you did not receive Form 1095-A, click here.
How to fix the IRS F8962-02 reject code in FileYourTaxes.com
1) Enter the return, select Health Insurance & Misc
2) Select "Yes" to Exchange Provided Health Insurance
3) Complete the Form 8962 Premium Tax Credit that will be generated
Once it has been updated, you will need to resubmit your filing.
To resubmit your filing, continue through until you reach a page that says, Congratulations, your return(s) have been filed.
If you do not have Form 8962:
- You can obtain a copy from the Marketplace site through which you purchased coverage.
- If you believe you are not required to file Form 8962, re-visit the Health Insurance and Miscellaneous Items page (located under your Forms In Return) and complete the ACA Explanation entry, explaining why the Form 8962 is not required in your return.
Please note:
If Form 8962 is not generated after answering "Yes" on the Health Insurance and Miscellaneous Items Page, then you can also add it to your return by typing 8962 into the search bar at the top left corner of the page, then click into the Form 8962 Premium Tax Credit option listed. If you did not receive Form 1095-A, you may provide an explanation as to why you are not including Form 1095-A and paper file your federal tax return.
